Theme: Insects “mini- beasts”

 Outcome: KES3 Label features of the natural environment. 

Subject:  Science   

Type of assessment: Formative Assessment "Exit Ticket"

Letting the students line up at the end of class while the teacher is stand at the door. As they reach the door, students must share an idea or concept they learned with the teacher .The students have to write one to two sentences about the lesson “ what was the lesson about”. Or the students could draw relate to the lesson that the teacher taught.

Why I choose this Assessment? 

Helps the teacher to see clearly about the student’s understanding of the lesson “caught what you taught” Develop the ideas for the next class/ unite.



Grading Criteria for formative assessment "Exit Ticket"


Reading or reviewing the students comments/ drawing about different types of insects and  the teacher could evaluate the students according to their comments/ drawing of the lesson(Math, , 2014)




If the students understand and Identify all features of the natural environment they are Mastered  Students , the students who identify some of the features they are in Developing, if the students couldn't identify any they are in Emerging level. 










Type of assessment: Summative Assessment "Sort natural and unnatural materials"


The students have to identify and sort some objects that are natural and unnatural.

If the students who identify more than five objects = Master 

If the students could identify some objects = Develop 

If the students could identify one of the objects = Emerging .


Why I choose this Assessment? 

This assessment helps the teacher to see the overall of students understanding. also the teacher help to give feedback for the students and evaluate the students progress in  specific outcome,

Froebel mention that “The main goal of a Froebel education is to teach the whole child in all developmental areas: socially, academically, emotionally, physically and spiritually. There are four main components of the Froebel Method: motor expression, social participation, free self-expression and creativity” (Friedrich Froebel, 2014). projects helps the students to be independent by building their social, cognitive, emotional and physical skills by using a real life materials and letting them to predict the world.
